Olhar Quarteira

Olhar Quarteira is a community-focused app that connects residents with the Parish Council of Quarteira to report and help correct problems in public spaces, enabling direct follow-up by local services. The app allows users to submit observations about cleanliness, green areas, sidewalks and leisure zones, and it supports volunteers who monitor assigned areas and help prioritise issues that need attention.

Key Features

Olhar Quarteira includes a network of volunteer tutors who act as local points of contact, an area assignment system so tutors monitor specific streets and public spaces, and the ability to register and signal anomalous situations in urban cleanliness and infrastructure. Reports submitted through the app are forwarded to the parish council for follow-up to improve response times and visibility.

Advantages

The Olhar Quarteira programme empowers residents to participate in maintaining neighbourhood quality, promotes organised area-based monitoring for better coverage and follow-up, and strengthens collaboration between the community and local authorities through an established reporting channel.

Disadvantages

Coverage is focused on the parish of Quarteira and functionality may be limited outside that area; the effectiveness of the programme depends on the availability and activity level of volunteer tutors.
