A one-percent increase may not appear very remarkable, but TrueTrophies noted for perspective that Dave the Diver, the most-played game on PS Plus Extra in 2024 so far, lost a hefty 51.35% of its player base after one month. The fact that GTA: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition not only sustained a 960% player boost, but increased it further during the same time period is highly impressive, even more so considering its widespread criticism back when it launched in 2021.

The pull of the Grand Theft Auto name itself is strong, and San Andreas is one of the most critically-acclaimed entries in the franchise, making it bound to be successful on PS Plus Extra.
